PRESTONGRANGE PARISH CHURCH

Kirk Street, Prestonpans, East Lothian. EH32 9DX

PRAYER

“.....My house shall be called a house of prayer.....” (N.A.S.V.)

Prayer takes many forms within Prestongrange. People are encouraged to pray individually, in groups as well as corporately.

Every Saturday a prayer breakfast is held in the choir room of the church from 7.30 a.m. – 9.15 a.m.

As well as a prayer chain there are prayer partners within the church and also members who have prayer partnerships outside of the church.  One of these partnerships meets as a Lighthouse of Prayer which prays for Houses Of Prayer Everywhere.

For the past two years Prestongrange has been involved in 24/7 prayer 24/3 and 24/1 prayer for various events. We have prayed for Scripture Union summer holiday clubs that were running in East Lothian and joined with others across the nation in praying on St Andrews Day for the nation.

As a church we actively seek to pray with other Christians within the town.  The unity between the churches is evident each year as all of the churches join together in a Procession of Prayer on Good Friday. The procession begins at St Gabriel’s R C church, and ends at the Salvation Army.  As well as praying within the churches we also pray at the library/infant school, the War Memorial, Coronation Gardens and finally the Red School.
We join with other Christians in the town for 24-7 prayer for the holiday clubs and also at Prayer Concerts

If you would like someone to pray with you or would like to find out more information about prayer at Prestongrange  or prayer in general please contact our Prayer Promoter Margo Cunningham on 01875 813295.
