Current Usage At present Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Boys’ Brigade (all sections), Sunday Club, and Focus Youth Group use the hall weekly. There is also a keep fit class, children’s keep fit, Boxercise, Tai Chi group. The hall is well suited to being used for family parties; keep fit classes; mother and toddler groups; presentations; arts and craft clubs and exhibitions; concerts; lunches and evening meals; dances; coffee mornings; small wedding parties; and funeral teas. Access There is an excellent transport network to and from Prestonpans. The main bus route is only a few minutes walk from the hall and the train station (trains going between North Berwick and Edinburgh) is only 10 minutes away. Edinburgh can be reached in less than 20 minutes by train and approx. 45 minutes by bus.
Overnight Stay Overnight stay may be a possibility.
Local Facilities There is easy access to various playing fields within the vicinity and the green hills on the sea front are an added bonus for playing games, having BBQs etc. The beach can be reached in less than 5-minutes. The community centre (within a 10-minute walk) has facilities for playing badminton, indoor sports, social functions etc. There is also a local swimming pool. Within the town and its vicinity, there are several large supermarkets as well as small specialist shops, post office, pharmacists and petrol station. Chinese, Indian, Pizza and Fish and Chip take-aways are close by as well as several pubs and a few restaurants. Kinnaird Park, a 15-minute drive away, hosts several restaurants, a cinema, mega bowl and numerous leading high street shops. Prestonpans is a town with a fascinating history. It is famous not only for the Battle of Prestonpans (1745) but also for many industries (see the nearby Prestongrange Industrial Heritage Museum) and its stunning architecture.
